I believe in being led by your values.

I also don’t believe in glorifying stress and hustle.

I live in Hamilton, New Zealand with my husband, our daughter, a snuggly white collie and a talkative tabby cat.

For me, life’s all about the simple things – a really good coffee, a quiet evening by the fire with a peppermint tea, the smell of the garden, walking the dog somewhere with trees.

In 2011, I started a business as a copywriter. Why? Because it was the GFC and I couldn’t find a job that fitted into the narrow band of what I thought I ‘should’ do.

“You’re good at writing.” “You should be a journalist.” “Your future is in writing.” “Why would you want to do that? It won’t make you much money.”

Basically – I did what everyone said I should do, assumed it was what I wanted, and left on the comfortable blinkers.

But this is what happened.

I spent my life constantly chasing a set of instructions. What was the ‘right’ way to do it? How should I do this? So often, I felt like I was in actor mode, going to corporate meetings in a nice but uncomfortable shirt and worrying if I was playing the part right.

In hindsight, I didn’t really know what my values were, but they were definitely misaligned with what I was doing. But I didn’t know myself well enough to realise that or dig any deeper.

And I didn’t hate what I was doing! I had some great clients that I’ve been absolutely privileged to work with.

But one day I realised something.

The part I enjoyed most was the initial meeting, where we nutted out the goals for the copywriting project, figured out how we might achieve them, and got to know each other.

In short, I got sick of trying to play a role. And so I focused on what I wanted my life to gain from my work and my business.

Could there be a role for me where I just got to hang out with people, talk with them about their goals, challenges, ideal dreams, motivations, and what they could do to achieve them?

There was. It was coaching.

So here I am, the real me, working with people I care about to help you bust through your roadblocks and reach your goals.
